THIS IS A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE

If you have teens or pre-teens or know anyone who does...you need this site. I was amazed at some of these terms and more amazed to learn that most kids over the age of 10 would know each and everyone of these..I am told often children much younger know them also. I know we cannot put our kids in a box and never let the world in, but we can do a better job then we are doing. Learn these acronyms and then watch for them. If you see your children, their friends, kids at school or church using these don't just let it go...call them on it and call their parents on it. It is only going to get worst if we as the adults let it go, not saying something and not standing up for what is right and wrong is the same as saying you approve of what they are typing, texting or saying.

WHAT DO YOU READ?

I have been asked what I read on the internet or what blogs I follow. I follow many..way to many to post here, but there are few that I always read. Below are those that are on the top of my list. They will make you think, make you cry, perhaps make you wake up, but most of all they will all praise the Lord. Not a day goes by that I do not read one of these and feel blessed. I hope that some of you will also enjoy these sites.
Send me what you read, what blog do you follow or do you have a blog of your own?
OK..here they are..I am not telling you anything more about them. Let me know what ones you liked

FROM ANOHTER BLOGGER...THANK YOU!

I was sent this post yesterday by one of my readers and have prayed on posting it or not posting and now I am posting it. I am not sure whos blog it came from as I got it second hand but I do agree with every word she says!! If you happen to know where it was first posted please let me know so I can give the blog credit for it. I could not say better than this person already has! Thanks for sending it to me and thanks to the person who first posted it.

What is our world coming to?
Thought you might want to sign this petition...There is actually an Abortion Bailout Package that has recently been proposed.
Yes, you read that right.
To the tune of 1.5 Billion dollars. I am a little upset. I can not get the state, nor any insurance company, to fund a medicine that will stop my unborn child from dying....AND YET---
Our government would consider giving 1.5 billion to kill a child. Really?
You know I don't get hot into politics, but this is just wrong.
Here is the link to where you can sign the petition to stop it...Susan B Anthony Site for Protection of the Unborn Child
If that link did not work, please go to THIS ONE, and search for it. It is that important, at least to me.

All I can add..is it should be to each and everyone of us!!!!

Not a bad site if you have a bit of time..many coupons you can print and samples you can send for. DON’T FORGET….DO NOT USE YOUR MAIN EMAIL ADDRESS. If you are new to samples and coupons you need to create an email address just for that. Never..NEVER give out your email address that you use for anything other than samples, coupons etc. Also you never NEVER give your phone number or date of birth or SS# or anything else like that. For phone number..just make one up, for date of birth come up with when you wish you were born and use that one…I am 20 yrs younger on my sons birthday!!! NEVER give information that you feel uneasy about. If you follow these simple rules you will never have a problem.

FREE DR PEPPER

Go here for your free Dr Pepper
http://promotions.yahoo.com/drpepper/freedietdrpepper/

COUPON BINDERS

How do I keep my coupons and how do I find them is the two top question I get..so below is the long awaited list of how I keep my coupons, I promised it by Tuesday Evening! Most of you have seem my coupon book but here again is how I set it up.

For those of you who are new I keep my coupons in a zipper folder, I use Caseit brand as they seem to wear well. Any larger folder with a zipper will do, the type you buy kids to use in school. The zipper is very important and worth the little extra you will pay for it. Sometime you (or one of your kids or grandkids..or even a friend) will drop your book…trust me on this one….we all have…and the zipper will save you from playing 500 coupon pick-up!
I then buy baseball card holders to hold my coupons. The basecard holders have nine opening in them and you can put coupons facing each way so you will be able to get 18 types of coupons in each sheet. You will also find having a zipper pencil holder at the front of back of your book helpful to keep all those store cards in. I also will keep a calculator, pen and paper in mine…want to know what I am paying….but that comes after you are comfy using the coupon book. Start basic and grow as you are ready. It will surprise you how fast your book will grow. In just a few weeks of getting one or two papers a week you will have a good start on your book. For those in my area you know I only buy the Indy Star as the local paper just does not have the same coupons in it. For those just starting try and find other ways to get coupons. Ask your family, friend and ask at work. If you have a paper saver in your apt. building look for the Sunday papers and pull the coupons out. There are many way to get coupons besides buying the paper on Sunday. Did you know that only 7% of coupons are ever used..that leaves us 93% to find and use!!! Don’t forget to print coupons from the computer and look up the websites of items you like, they often have coupons on them and you will be amazed at how many coupons you can get in the mail by just telling a company how well you like the items they make.

Below is the list....let me know it works for you.

Baking…. This is where I keep anything that would go in the kitchen that does not fit somewhere else AND anything I use for baking. Sugar, Cookie mix, Cake mix, Nuts etc.

Beverage….If you drink it or put it in what you drink this is where it goes

Bread…all types and some cookies and such that are sold in bread isle like Little Debbies etc

Canned…..For the most part if it comes in a can it goes here

Cereal ….All hot and cold cereals also cereal bars, granola bars, I keep crackers and cookies here also. I have a sheet between the two but for me this is where it fits best as many stores have the crackers and cookies in the same isle.

Cleaning….If it cleans it goes here…other than soaps and Laundry supplies

Condiments….This is a catch all for dressing, ketchups, mustards, pickles, olives and things like that

Dairy…Any thing in the dairy case goes here..think beyond milk and cheese. Yogurt, biscuits etc

Deodorant….That is it…other than I have added a few odd balls here. You sometimes get batteries or something like that just does not fit anywhere..well this is where I put it. That way they all stay in one place and when I think..where would I have put that coupon..I know…it goes in the odd ball file!

Entertainment….You know those coupons for BOGO at Arbys or Subway or those $5 off at Applebees that come in the paper, this is where all those go.

Feminine…That is what I keep there

Frozen..If its in the frozen section this is where you will find it in my book. When I have a lot of this section I will sometime break them down by Veggies, Meat, Desserts etc so I able to find what I need in the store

Hair…Shampoo and such goes here. I also keep my razors here…hey its used to remove hair!!

Laundry…If you use it to wash this is where it goes.

Meat…All meats go here, deli, fresh, lunch, hotdogs etc. I do not put Frozen here as it has its own place

Oral Care…If you use it in your mouth it goes here.

Over the Counter….This can sometimes become a very large section so I do tend to break it down a bit. Pain relievers, creams, tummy, etc. The first page of this section has the coupons of items we use often in our home.

Paper & Plastic…This has not only paper plates and plastic cups but items like trash bags, TP, paper towel, foil wrap, etc. If you find it in the papers isle it goes here.

Pasta & Rice ….Pasta sauce (even if it comes in a can I still put it here not under cans) Pasta, Rice, I also put things here like Hamburg helper coupon and other pre-mix dinners and quick dinners as they tend to be in this same isle. I also keep anything Mexican in this section.

Snacks…this is a catch all for things that do not fit elsewhere. Candy bars are often BOGO or $1 off two but where do you put them..here!!! I also keep chips, popcorn and things like here.

Soap…That’s pretty much it…soap…dish soap, body soap, body wash, mens soap, baby soap..etc. Now I also keep baby coupons here as this section is smaller than most.

Store Coupons..If its only good at one store it goes here. I also keep coupons for stores like JCPenny here, Kmart, Walmart..not just food store coupons.

I would add what you need to fit your family. Start with the ones here and add what you find you need. I have added a section for Pet food in mine after we got Pistol. Its at the back of my book after soap and before store coupons…I do not use it very often but I know where to find them.

I hope this helps all of you who have asked and for those who did not..well I hope it will help you also! I could never save what I do if I had my coupons in my pocket and off to the store I went. I need to be able to find them, match them to what is on sale in the paper and what is on special at the store those things you never knew of until you got there. I can go down the “HAIR” isle, flip my book to “HAIR” and in just a quick look see if I have coupons to match with the sales. If its on sale and I do not have a coupon or if I have a coupon and it not on sale I NEVER buy it! It has to be both, on sale and a coupon before I will buy it. ….unless its FREE!

DEAN'S NEW MILK PRINTABLE COUPON

I have not seen this in the stores yet but should be there soon. The coupon is in PDF format so print it now as these coupons do not last long. The coupon is good until the end of the year!

FREE DENTAL CARE FOR CHILDREN

Are your kids in need of a dental check up and you cannot afford one...check out this program. If you know of anyone who has a child who could use this please pass this site on to them. This only happens once a year! With all the family out of work I am sure that there are many who could use the help offered here. From what I read this is a wonderful program and really is free for those who need the help. As a part of the American Dental Association’s “Give Kids A Smile” program there thousands of dentists all across the county that will offer free dental care to children age 12 and under from low income families. This free day of dental care takes place every year on the first Friday in February. To find a program near you, click here.

THIS WEEK and CLASS???????

I have been asked to explain again how I keep my coupons and the tabs I use to find them when in the stores. I will be working on this and will have it posted for you by Tuesday evening. I will also get all the stores sales in our areas posted, Meijers, Krogers, Marsh and anything else that looks to good to pass up. I will no longer be putting the dates of the coupons behind them as I do not think we have anyone saving coupons by insert. If you would like to see anything else let me know. I do have a question for all of you...WHERE are the best diaper and dog/pet food deals. We only have one cat and no small children so sometimes I over look those sales. What is 'normal price' for diapers and pull ups that you are paying now and what would you find as really good price. Let me know and I can start to look for those deals. Also we have a few who are looking for great prices on pet food. Help me find the deals and I will get them posted.

NOW... the question I need your help with. I have again..and again been asked to hold a class. I had been asked before and that is what started this blog...I was hoping it would be enough for those that wanted to start to use coupons. For many it has been, for some it has not been. So I guess I am asking you..if we were to do a class on a Friday evening or Sunday afternoon would that be helpful? Would you come, would your friends come, what would want to learn or know more about. What is the hardest thing for you and what is so simple it really does not need to be said again? Do any of you do meal planning and if so do you want more help with that? Are most of you feeing familys or just saving a few bucks? Help me out and email your ideas and thoughts. Thanks!!

GREAT WEEK!

Sorry to those that were waiting for more deals to be posted last week. Doug and I took a very needed few days off and left the computer and church at home. We went to Michigan and enjoyed time with our oldest and youngest grandsons. Our oldest is a very active 13 yr old who plays hockey on a travel team that we do not get to see very often. Our youngest are twin boys who turned 3 this week. We were able to see our oldest play hockey (Doug will never get use to how cold an ice arena is!) and spend the twins birthday with them. We then drove to Indy to spend time with our youngest granddaughter for her birthday, she is now 2! The kids are all getting so big so fast! It was good to spend time with them all and share the joys of their lives. Three years ago today we lost our grandson Corbin and wondered if life would ever be good again....God has blessed our family each one of us and we are so very grateful for the gifts he has given us. I pray each of you will take a bit of time this week and spend it being thankful for your famliy and the blessings God has given you. Once in a while we need to step back and just smile...recalling that God is in control in all things, even when we do not see it.
Thank you for the emails wondering where we were. All is fine..all is better than fine, we are blessed!

PRAYER REQUEST

I am asking you to keep two familys in your prayers today and this coming week. I am not sending names but the Lord knows who they are.
One of our readers friend is in the hospital with twins that think they are ready to come. I am not sure how far along they are but around the 25-27 week mark so they really need to stay put for a bit longer. Pray that the doctors will be able to keep mom's labor stopped and the babies will be healthy when they do come.
Another of our readers is worried about their Mom who found there is problem with her lungs. Could just be an infection that drugs will clear up but there is chance its cancer. She is going to the doctors today so keep her your prayers and the family as they wait to find out the news.

BABY ITEMS

I have been asked to find and post the best prices on baby items such as diapers. I am sorry but there just is not enough time to post all the deals out there for everyone. BUT I have found a site that does just that...post all the baby deals. I have checked out the site a few times and have found no reason not to post the link here. She has found some great deals! She is not local to our area but most deals for places like CVS, Walgreens, RiteAid, Meijers, Krogers, Walmart, Target etc would be the same here. Check it out and let me know what you think of it. If it does not work for you I will keep looking for a someone with a blog that is local to our area.
http://babycheapskate.blogspot.com/2009/01/top-diaper-and-formula-deals-of-week_18.html

SAYS IT ALL

I found this statement over at Savingyourcents blogsite. No idea if she made it up or found it somewhere else but its just great! One line does indeed say it all!
As one we can find great deals...but together we can find GRAND deals

KROGERS....COULD IT BE???

I have been reading that KROGERS is doing their MEGA 10 this week in areas that strated their ad on Monday. I have looked and looked trying to find our ad which will be out after midnight tonight for an early look but cannot find it. We follow Ohio about 95% of the time, that being said check your local ad first.
KROGER MEGA sale is a 10 for $10 sale with a $5.00 instant saving off your order at the register. The last time they did this sale I know Doug thought I was crazy. Between sales and coupon it was the best sale in a very long time.
The ad will break tonight but we are going to be gone. We are spending a few days with our grandsons to see the oldest play hockey and the twins turn 3, then on Saturday we are spending some time with our granddaugher as she is turing 2. So you can see its going to be a busy week. I will post as soon as I can on Krogers, but check your ad, look at your coupons and email me your finds. The rules to the sale will be printed in the ad, last time it was one deal per person per day. PLEASE play fair..if its one per person per day.. plan on going everyday not 10 times in one day. The only way these sales will keep happening is by following the rules.
Oh I am so hoping our ad is the same as Ohio's is. Use zipcode 43302 if you want to see the current ad for Ohio and the great sales..I hope..we are going to have this week.

COUPON BINDERS

I think we are up and running again!! Gee computer are like men..cannot live without them and cannot live with them..and just when you think you have them working...they stop!!
I have gotten SEVEN emails today on how I keep my coupons. I know I have posted it before so if you want to see what I had to say about you will need to go looking at older post. I did find a few good sites today one that sells them for those of you who do not want to take the time to do it yourself and a few that help you build one. The main thing is you need something that works well for you. I know people who use a shoebox, one who takes only the ones she knows she will use that day and one who take the full insert and cuts them at the store when needed. The point is that the way you keep your coupons is not as important that you use them. The best looking coupon book is no good if it never makes it to the store!
http://mrsascouponorganizer.com/products.php#
This one is very close to mine. I did buy my inserts dividers but the rest I did myself. For those who have kids perhaps you have a old binder laying around they no longer use. I find that mid October is a great time to find them on sale. I wear one a year out..sometimes more! I buy a very big binder and only carry one. I know some carry two or three for food, drugstores etc..I just use one.
http://technorati.com/videos/youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DC3byETfcMXc
This is great video on how to do a coupon binder
http://deals.families.com/cool-binder-tips,t30518
This has suggestions from others on how to use a coupon book
http://www.thesimpledollar.com/2008/06/13/how-we-organize-our-coupons-and-execute-our-coupon-strategy/
This is another blogger who has done a great job with tell/showing how to put together a coupon binder. She used a photo book which I have never seen before. I know you can pick these up at many dollar stores.

Hope this helps everyone. If you have more quesitons let me know. Sorry I did not write you all back but that was to many with the same question.
I would be happy to help those that are around me build a coupon book. Give me a call or drop me an email and we can set up a morning Doug is at church and do it here.
I will be posting Meijers and such this afternoon.

KMART DOUBLES TO $3.00

Hmmm I have been hearing it all week...Kmart is going to double to $3.00. But now I am posting it..as it is TRUE. Now do not get to excited it is only a few stores. There are a few not to far from the Indy area and from my area. I know for sure LaPorte, Muncie, Anderson and few the other side of Indy are all doing doubles to $3.00. If you will go to the K-mart website and look up the weekly ads you can put in your zip code and see what your store is doing. You will need to go to the bottom of the first page of the first ad .....its all the way to the bottom so you could miss it if you dont all the way to the bottom of that page. You can look up the Anderson, IN store to see what the ad would like. By looking at stores around your home you may find one that is doing doubles to $3.00 I am sure Kmart is still trying to find out what market it works in and if those that come to use coupons will also buy other items in the store..in other words.. making a profit doing this.
If this is based on what I buy when I coupon shop they are not going to make a profit!!!
As I have said before..be careful what you buy at Kmart. Doubles to $3 are wonderful and with those coupons I cannot really see how you can lose..but none of us have a lot of $3.00 coupons so they are counting on your buying non coupon items and think that $2.00 or $1.50 coupon double is a good deal..since you are already there and that is all true just watch the price you are paying There price is still to high so be careful and know what you pay other places! I sound like I do not like Kmart, please do not read it that way. I just think thier everyday price is on the high side the same way I think Martins (love they have starbucks in them) are high and do not often send you over that way. They are good stores, just know what you spend for an item before you think its a good or great deal.

This coupon is good for months so print extras.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!

This is a copy of an email from Tammy. She has only been doing coupons this way for about 6 weeks! If you watch the sales, get coupons (print or buy papers or ask family and friends for the coupons from their paper) You can do it also. It takes time, I am sure Tammy would agree. The saving are worth the time and it just feels good to know you can feed your family for half of what did before. It gives you more money to pay off those bills, do a few 'extra' things and to give more. I pray everyone who is using the blog is taking a few of those FREE things and giving them to someone who has less than you do.
When you have a great shopping trip drop me a note and I will post it. It helps others to see what you got and what you spent. Thanks Tammy for the note.

Here is what Tammy wrote:
I went to Meijer's on my lunch and spent 54.56. I had a total savings of 100.17. (3.00 meijer promotions, 52.47 non coupon savings (sales) & 44.70 in coupons)

WALGREEN UPDATE

Hot Pepsi/Frito Lay Deal at Walgreens plus more

I mentioned in my Walgreens weekly post the Register Rewards promotion that Walgreens has on Pepsi/Frito Lay products. Well it turns out that the deal is a little better than what I originally thought.

Apparently this register reward is printing $5 RR if you buy $15 in Pepsi/Frito Lay products or $10 if you buy $20 in products. These are the qualifying products:

12 pk or 2 ltr: Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Sierra Mist
32 oz. Gatorade, G2 or Tiger
9 - 13 1/2 oz Tostitos Tortilla Chips
11 3/4 - 13 oz Doritos (all varieties)
16 oz Tostitos Queso Dip

Besides the 12 packs and the litter bottles, the Doritos and the Tostitos chips and dips are also part of the Pepsi rebate. The 12 packs are on sale $3 each and the Tostitos chips and queso dips are on Megasaver* 2/$7 if you buy two or $3.99 for one.

If you want to do the rebate you could buy:

$12 for four twelve packs
$10.5 for three bags of tortilla chips
use 4 of these $1/1 internet printable coupon if you are buying Pepsi One
=$8.50 out of pocket and get $10 in RR back and submit your receipt for the Pepsi Rebate.

I am not advocating that you buy these products because they are cheap or because there is a rebate going on. But the Superbowl is coming and chances are pretty good that some of you will be hosting a Super Bowl party and will need some of these items. So if you think you will need them this is a good sale to take advantage of.

Here are a couple more deals:

Lysol wipes are on sale buy one get one free and there was a $1 off one coupon in the 1/11 inserts. Reportedly there are also double packs of these wipes included in the sale. Thanks Anita!
Extra gum is on Megasaver this month at Walgreens for $1.98 for three packs (regular price is $1.19 per pack). There is also a $0.99 off three packs coupon in the January Easysaver catalog. Combine the sale price with the store coupon to pay $0.33 per pack of gum. Be warned that apparently the coupon doesn’t work on the Berry Paradise flavor. Thanks Ana!
*Megasaver is a special sale price at Walgreens that usually last the length of the Easysaver period.

WALGREEN AND CVS HIGHLIGHTS

Here are the best I see this week at both CVS and Walgreens. There are some good deals depending on what you need. The toothpaste is great at both stores...if anyone still needs more after the past two weeks. The Altoids at CVS are a freebie for those that find the peelies on them. At our store over half the ones had peelies..and no I did not pull them all off!!! The OUST at Walgreens is a first..so try and pick that one up. Get your rain checks!!! Most stores will be out of these deals by mid week so if its a light week on the extra money get your rain check and plan on picking them up in a week or two. I will be back to post the $5.00 out of pocket deals later to night or early on Monday. Email if you see a deal I missed.

K-MART DOUBLES IN YOUR AREA??

I just found out that not all our K-marts are having doubles this week. It looks like about half of you are. Please call your local store before heading off to save. For those of you who do not have them this week..do not worry in a week or two they will be in your area also. K-mart is 'testing' markets or so they said in an email back to me. As I said in the first post about K-mart,they are very high priced so if you go be careful on what you buy. With the coupon for CVS this week that is $3 off any CVS brand item I would spend my extra time going there before heading off to K-mart.
